Posters show Rajinikanth and Modi together, family says they have nothing to say

He is busy getting ready for the audio launch of Kochadaiyan. But politicians in Tamil Nadu are not ready to leave the superstar Rajinikanth for just movies. With Rajinikanth not even reacting to BJP's invitation to attend Narendra Modi's conference, posters that cropped up in the political capital of Tamil Nadu shocked everyone. The posters put in Trichy showed Rajinikanth and Narendra Modi together. BJP claimed that they had not put up the posters. Few enthusiastic Rajini fans had apparently put out the posters. None have owned up for the posters though. BJP was only too happy to have the posters.

With Kochadaiyan getting ready for release, Rajini and his family want to stay away from politics. Rajinikanth's wife Latha said, "We have nothing to say. They have put it up. We want to stay away from the media now." With lakhs of fans in Tamil Nadu, it was only natural for everyone to expect Rajini to enter politics like his predecessors MGR, Sivaji, Jayalalithtaa and Vijayakanth. But for more than fifteen years, Rajini has been evading politics. Almost every movie of the star has a dialogue which keeps fans guessing about his political ambitions. In 1996, Rajinikanth did come out openly to support DMK which made Karunanidhi sweep the elections. But beyond that superstar has stayed from politicians and politics.  Both DMK and Congress feel state unit of BJP is trying to cash in on Rajinikanth's popularity. B. S. Gnanadesikan, president of Tamil Nadu Congress Committee  said " BJP is non existent in TN. Whether pre or post Modi. Apart from dravidian parties only Congress is big. They are making a big hype in Trichy. I dont know if these posters are authorised by BJP or not. Anybody can call anybody. But its the person who should reply. BJP is using big names... they are projecting as though these people will join BJp. They are doing this to increase their popularity in Tamil Nadu. But the meeting will reflect. Superstar gave a consent to voice for TMC in 1996. Unless he gives consent we need not worry. "

DMK spokesperson also strongly believes that Rajini is not political and would not budge for this crowd pulling tactics by the BJP.

State BJP leaders were hopeful considering that Modi visited Rajini at hospital in 2011. But as the evening drew close...Some were floating rumours that the actor could make a dramatic entry like in his movies. Of course real world has always seen the actor as a philosophical and spiritual person. Modi did get crowd in Trichy. Without Rajini of course.
